i've been in ny since last wed and will be here til this thurs (8/12). if you're around these parts, gimme a call so we can chill.

went to my cousin jeanne's wedding in maryland yesterday. its crazy how large my buenviaje side of the family is. i think i counted my first cousins once... 15, i believe. and then there are the husbands and wives and all their kids. i think we're hitting 30 people or so now. events like this wedding are a great way to catch up with the family i was so deprived of in my childhood. there's talk of a reunion in the philippines in a year or two. i think our arrival would double the population of my dad's town and would cause quite the ruckus. but damn that would be fun.

in other family news, it was confirmed that my uncle and aunt are moving from north carolina to mountain view at the end of august. they're gonna be living 5-10 minutes from my house. the prospect of any relatives being that close to my family and possibly being integrated into my every day life is SO bizarre to me. maybe their kids/my cousins will even visit more often. how weird.

anyway, i could go on and on about our pseudo-buenviaje reunion yesterday, but i'll refrain since most of you have no idea who i'm referring to anyway. but i will end with a plug for my cousin jeremy's band -- the honored guests. they opened up for midtown recently and are playing in various places in the northeast. rock on, cuz.
