i've been meaning to blog. once again, about work. i apologize for the lack of interesting subjects. my life is boring, as is my blog.
our campaign launched last monday, april 2 to little fanfare. instead we had fires -- our campaign site, the core component of our campaign, had major technical difficulties worldwide (that's 12 countries) that translated to long hours and stressful people. the worst is over, and here is the centerpiece of our campaign. (ignore the bugs, we know they're there.)
i didn't work on the web site so if it is below your expectations, don't whine to me. our LA office managed the site development and even our internal folks aren't too thrilled with the result. i worked on the online ads, which are floating around the vast world wide web. i can't link directly to one since they are rotated on all sorts of sites. you'll know one when you see it... it has the MS Office logo.
the campaign also consists of huge out-of-home ads (aka "billboards"). we have major placements in times square and jfk airport, which i wish i could see in person. in sf, we have this cool digital billboard near the bay bridge and a handful of other building-size ads, two of which are right down the street from my place. we also have some bus sides (technically known as bus kings) that you can see on buses throughout the city. its pretty damn cool to see our work as i walk down the street.
no tv ads, but we made some web films that are on the campaign site and already posted up virally on youtube and various other sites. our official youtube "channel" launches later this month, so i'll link to that when its live.
april 19 is another big day of our campaign, so i encourage readers to visit MSN next thursday. please. its the super bowl of online ads and was a huge pain in my ass, so view, enjoy, and most importantly, click through. :) thanks.
in summary, we spent a hell of a lot of money on some amazing advertising, including some industry "firsts". so check out the fruits of my labor. i'm kinda proud of it. and most of all, i'm glad to see it behind me.
