i had a really fun, albeit short, time in new york last week. the minute i landed at the airport, i felt like i was coming home. i had forgotten all the little things that made up the city life -- the squeak of the subway train on the tracks, the crazy characters singing and asking for money, the smell of the humidity and rain in the summertime. i really missed all that, but at the same time i remembered why i left - the crowds, the pace, the expensive living, the partying. it sure wears you out. i'm pretty sure rich, jeff, mikey, carmen and all the socal folks that came out last week felt worn out by the end of it. good times though, for sure.
thanks carmen and mikey for inviting me to celebrate carmen's birthday at such a fancy restaurant. i'm humbled to have been in the presence of royalty. ;) haha. carmen, hope your birthday was a memorable one and i was glad to share it with you.
justine, atina and fatima, same goes to you. i'm glad i was there to celebrate your birthdays with you girls. it felt just like the old times that i miss so much.
it was nice to be "home" with my girls. i REALLY miss you girls, probably more than anything else about new york. thanks bev for letting me stay at your place, despite all the stinkiness i brought with me. hehe. and thanks for the shopping and the movie on saturday. as much of a simple, everyday event that was, it was so nice to pretend for a moment that i still live there.
thanks to those who came for our "volleyball" game on sunday. even though we were all too lazy and hot to play, it was nice to bum around and picnic in the park.
overall, it was awesome to hang out on my old stomping grounds. i want to go back in the winter so i can play in the snow and see everyone i didn't get to see last week. although... i believe its also SOME people's turn to visit ME! (hint, hint)
