me again. its friday, 1:34pm in the philippines and the temperature is way better than the first few days i was here. we broke yet another filipino superstition yesterday. (we keep learning new ones every day, and every day one of my uncles breaks one.) my sister, cousin and i went with my lolo's helper and her two kids to batangas city. we took a jeepney that dropped us off at SM City shopping mall.

i love shopping here. its about P55 = $1 so everything is so damn cheap. meals are about $2. i got two pairs of flipflops for $3 each. good stuff. if i wanted to get my hair done here, it would only be about $4. crazy.

today is the novena and tomorrow is the funeral. a lot of family drama going on amongst my uncles and aunts. also since we're all not doing much, we've been doing a good amount of sitting and talking. heard a lot of cool stories about my lolo's life before he married my lola, and all kinds of things. (like my great-grandfather was full-spanish, hence our name.) its all stuff someone needs to write down sometime.

after tomorrow, i think we're more free to do stuff. i'd like to hit up manila and finally eat at a nice restaurant and shop and some of the nicer stores. i'm really not made for this provincial lifestyle. i'm too anal about cleanliness. haha. i give everyone a lot of credit for growing up here; its rough.
