two things to report:
1) at work today, a design agency from palo alto presented their work and capabilities to us. i mentioned to one of the women that i was originally from the south bay and that i went to high school in santa clara. she asked me where and i said, "a really small private school". she asked me what the name was and i said "saint lawrence". and she said, "i went to school there until 8th grade." i was shocked. i mean really, st. lawrence is a tiny hole in the wall, hardly anybody even know it exists! we went on to discuss the school... she's probably in her early-30s but we shared the same kindergarten and 6th grade teachers. i thought that was pretty crazy.
2) it seems that for the holidays this year i'll actually have something fun to do! typically its my parents, sister, me and (if we're lucky) a relative or two at my house with tons of food and some dvd we rented to watch. not very exciting at all. last christmas we came to terms with how pathetic our holidays have been and decided that we needed to do something more. so THIS year we're going on a trip. my family plus my aunt, uncle and two of my cousins, are going on a holland america cruise. the route is tampa > key west > belize > guatamala > cozumel > tampa. and if that's not fun enough, we're driving to orlando afterward to visit with some important folks (mickey mouse). i'm really stoked because we'll actually be with fun family and won't end up just fighting with one another (hopefully). yay!
